2007 Dexter Cattle Show at the Nebraska State Fair

The debut of Dexter Cattle at the Nebraska State Fair was a resounding success. Seven breeders from Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri, and Nebraska entered 39 animals.

The Nebraska State Fair Beef Department Staff were very pleased and appreciative of the excellent response and participation by Dexter breeders in this first showing of Dexter Cattle at the Nebraska State Fair. Of the eight breeds represented during the beef show, Dexters outnumbered all but three other breeds - one of which was a national point show for the breed!

Dexters of both the PDCA and ADCA have been enthusiastically invited to return to the Nebraska State Fair in 2008. The fair staff has also asked about the possibility of having both an open and a youth show.

Dexter breeders from across the midwest took advantage of the opportunity to proudly display their dexters, to meet with other breeders and persons interested in the breed, and to do what they all enjoy doing the most - be around and talk about their special breed of cattle.

The second annual Dexter Show at the Nebraska State Fair will be held the 4th week of August 2008 and will be another great opportunity for midwest breeders to meet, show and discuss all things Dexter. Mark it on your calendar.
